The Lady Cubs competed Saturday, February 3rd, at Floyd Central in the 2018 Girls Sectional Championship meet. Despite battling a season full of illness, relocations, and season-ending injuries, our final seven swimmers, all young, made a good showing finishing the weekend in 12th place overall.

“We are very excited about what next year will hold for our team.  We are graduating one senior and expect everyone else to return.  This group of young ladies is so very capable of competing at a higher level.  We just need to work on keeping everyone healthy and continue to ramp up offseason conditioning and pool time,” said MCHS swim coach Ashley Schutte.

MCHS junior and first-time high school swimmer Hope Miller said, “Getting back into the pool was tough for sure, considering it had been a while and I was not used to that type of conditioning, but the coaches and the team made this season really fun.”
