New-coming Hip Hop artist, Felly, is set to release his third mainstream album; titled, Wild Strawberries, on August 18. Felly, although new and upcoming, has been rapping for most of his life and supports his expertise through jazzy/lo-fi hip-hop beats and r&b-styled rap lyrics loaded with auto-tune.

The first glimpse of Wild Strawberries was from Felly’s snapchat (Username: Fel) in small video snippets of instrumentals and wavy-sounding, unmixed tracks. At that point, the album was unannounced and the only talk of an album were the discussions by the fans following him on Snapchat.

While the fans were buzzing over his over-abundant leaks on Snapchat, Felly released a song every Wednesday until July 19th and placed them into a playlist called New Flavors, which would be made up of five tracks: “Fight the Feeling,” “Delta Deathbus to Zion (ft. Peter $un),” “Keep the Team Straight,” “Hotel Room,” and a live performance of “Blue Velour” which was the second song off of his Young Fel album the previous summer. This playlist allowed fans to see what was to come on the next album and showcased Felly’s eccentric jazzy style mixed with modern trap production.

The first single off of Wild Strawberries was later released on June 14th with the name, “Baby Boy.” The single is a perfect representation of Felly’s production and beat-making by mixing classic blues guitars and bass with electronic sounds that mold perfectly with the use of auto-tune on his voice.

Felly released a second single named “Bag Season,” with a feature from Trip Carter (a rapper and bass player on Felly’s 2273 label). The single was released on July 28th and is a heavier trap-sounding track. It opens up with a catchy chorus sung by Trip Carter and continues with verses that can only be described as vintage Felly.

The third single, released August 8th is “Wide Angle (ft. Konshens).” “Wide Angle” is an exciting EDM track featuring a Jamaican Dancehall artist who goes by Konshens. The track is a fast-paced club song with Jamaican influence.

The up-and-coming Felly has had a long but quiet career. He’s established a loyal fan base in the same way artists like XXXTentacion have established their fan bases. His unique style and his loud persona almost ensure that the next couple of years will be his for the taking.
